A little bit about me
I write action packed romantic suspense with strong (sometimes snarky) heroines.
I read too much, watch too much T.V. and quote movies so often that sometimes I don’t realize I’m doing it. For me caffeine is a way of life. Literally sometimes because I’ve had several barista jobs. Let me tell you it’s easy to become a mocha-holic when they’re that accessible.
I live in Michigan and am a traitor to my state as I cannot stand the card game Euchre (my friends will read this and want to smack me for that, I’m sure.) Nor am I a fan of snow. Cold, wet feet are not pleasant. We have great summers and a lot of beaches, though, so I can’t really complain.
I went to college for Fine Arts but it’s been a while since I’ve busted out the easel. I call my new style Epic Doodle (usually done on receipt paper or the margins of my notebooks) and I expect it to take off as the next movement any day now, I’m sure. But writing has always been my passion. Ever since I read my first chapter book I knew that I wanted to write. When I was in second grade I won a Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators contest and got to read my story on T.V. I also got LeVar Burton’s autograph (which my Trekky friend would murder me in my sleep for if she thought she’d be able to find it.)
Since then I’ve flip-flopped back and forth trying to think of something practical to be when I "grow up" (yeah, like going to school for fine arts. Can you tell I’ve never been any good at being practical?) But nothing else felt right. I always went back to writing. So that is what I’m doing now.
My first work is out through Avon Impulse. It's a romantic suspense novella in their Valentine's Day anthology and I had so much fun writing it. This has been such a great experience and I'm still working on writing like crazy so I know that this is only the beginning!
